The Archives

After Krishnamurti's death, the Archives have assumed greater importance as they preserve for posterity Krishnamurti's works in their original, undistorted form.

The archives of the KFI is located at Vasanta Vihar, Madras. The materials include documents and records of Krishnamurti's life, books, manuscripts, transcripts, journals, letters, newspaper cuttings, organizational documents, photographs, audio tapes (including digital audio tapes), gramophone records, videotapes, films, and CD-Rom The task being of a complex and specialized nature, the archives continuously update their methods of preservation.

It is possible that a great deal of Krishnamurti materials - manuscripts, letters and tapes - are in the private collections of many individuals. The materials may quickly be lost unless they are scientifically preserved. The Foundation appeals to such people to gift them to the archives, which will in turn provide photocopies/recordings of the materials to the donors. For information write to Secretary, KFI, Chennai.
