How You Can Help

We notice an active and growing demand made on us to provide easy access to Krishnamurti’s teachings from various sections of the public.

The Foundation does endeavour to meet this demand in many ways but we do look forward to much support of a sustained nature from those who have been touched by the teachings to enable us to take this work forward.

Here are some areas that might interest you:

Outreach

KFI proposes to organizing vibrant programmes of video shows and discussions for students, professionals, environmental groups and others within Chennai either at Vasanta Vihar or at their Institutions or places of work on themes of contemporary relevance to our lives today. Institutions that would like us to conduct such programmes or requested to contact us at KFI: info@kfionline.org

Such programmes can also be organized in different cities within the country if prior request is made to us by groups of individuals who may be running a Study Circle or any information centre in the country.

We solicit assistance from people in media to help KFI arrange telecast and broadcast of Krishnamurti’s talks. Friends in the media could also help advertise reviews of our publications and other activities.

We also seek support from volunteers to assist in conducting Book Fairs in various cities as and when they occur. Details can be had from KFI Publications at publications@kfionline.org

Donation of Books to Libraries

KFI undertook a major project of donating books in English and Indian Languages to nearly 1500 public Libraries in India, Srilanka, Pakisthan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. We now need to activate their use through media support in various other ways of networking with the libraries. We would like to extend the scheme to countries in Africa and Asia. For details contact editor@kfionline.org

Free Newsletters

As mentioned earlier KFI distributes newsletters which contains excerpts from Krishnaji’s writings in English and other Indian languages free to thousands of people who have sought to be on our Mailing Lists. We seek your generous support for this project by way of donations, big or small.

Subsidized Editions

Apart from our regular publications, KFI has brought out highly subsidized editions of 7 books in English costing either ₹ 20/- or ₹ 50/- according to their size. We would like to meet a new demand that has a arisen for such low cost books in Indian Languages. Donations can also be ear-marked for this.

Braille Editions

KFI has initiated a project to make available Krishnamurti’s teachings to the visually impaired. And, fortunately for us, the National Association for the Blind (NAB) has evinced keen interest in producing Braille editions of the following basic books of Krishnamurti:

  • Freedom from the Known
  • Education and the Significance of Life
  • Krishnamurti for the Young series — 3 volumes

and the first two titles in Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati.

The Foundation would like to raise funds for producing Braille editions in the other Indian languages. NAB is also keen on producing Audio Books in Indian languages.

Audio – Video Recordings

Thanks to the advent of new technology, we have been able to procure from abroad rare programmes of Krishnamurti, and our aim is to produce more DVD’s, Audio CDs and MP3s for use in our Study Centre, as also in Study Circles and Information centres from other parts of India. Another ambitious aim of ours is to produce DVDs with subtitles in Indian Languages.

Resident Students Scheme

Under this scheme we invite people who are interested in studying the teachings of Krishnamurti seriously in the quiet environment at The Study at Vasanta Vihar. This could be initially for a period of 3 months, extendable in exceptional cases to a longer period. Hospitality is provided free of cost and a suitable stipend is also available for such people. Those interested are requested to contact outreachkfi@gmail.com.

Archives

The Archives preserves, for centuries to come all that Krishnamurti spoke and wrote. Its mission is to preserve, in digital form all the Audio recordings, Video recordings, Films, Books, Journals, Manuscripts and Photographs. These have to be preserved in Air conditioned and Humidity-controlled environment.
