Kolkata Study Center

The Krishnamurti Centre in Kolkata, housed in a four-storey building, has a reading room on the first floor, a large room for discussions, an auditorium for video-shows, and a silence hall. The reading room has a large collection of books by Krishnamurti, including translations of a few titles in Bengali and Hindi. There are also books on philosophy, religion, yoga, psychology, alternative medicine, and so on. A separate lending section for Krishnamurti's books enables people to borrow books against a nominal deposit. There is also a good collection of video and audio recordings of Krishnamurti's talks and dialogues, with facility for individual viewing of videos. Video-shows are held on the second and fourth Sundays.

The Centre is open Tuesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Centre also takes part in the annual book fairs held in the city.

KFI is keen on making the Centre more vibrant as a place of study and dialogue for serious seekers, in disseminating the teachings, and in promoting Bengali translations. Those interested in participating in this work may please contact the Centre.
