Rajghat Study Centre

Rajghat Study Centre

The Study Centre is located in the house in which Krishnamurti lived during his annual visits. Set on a high prominence overlooking the Ganga, the campus has a guest house and a few cottages attached to the Study Centre/Retreat. The Study Centre consists of a library and a mini-archives. Apart from offering the usual facilities of a Krishnamurti Study Centre, it has a translations and publications cell, where Hindi, Bengali, and Urdu translations are available.

Weather: Varanasi, like most of North India, has well-marked seasons: Winter (Nov-Feb); spring (March-April); summer (May-June); monsoons (July-Oct). The best time to be there is spring and early winter.

Reservations: Accommodation for a limited period is available on prior intimation (at least six weeks in advance).

How to get there:

  • By air: Indian Airlines operates regular flights from Bombay and Delhi.
  • By rail: The city is well connected to Delhi, Bombay, Madras and Calcutta through the Varanasi Cantonment ( 7 km) and Mughal Sarai (10 km) railway stations.
  • By road: Varanasi is an important city on the Delhi-Calcutta Grant Trunk Road.Cycle-rickshaws, autorickshaws and taxis are easily available. Ask for Vasanta College (on campus) or the Kashi railway station (less than a kilometre from the campus).
